Part II: Voter Registration
Quick Guide to League in Action
What is League in Action?
League in Action is a mobile app LWV Minnesota is using to promote voter engagement. It allows us to send notifications to people who have pledged to vote (subscribed).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Pledging to vote with League in Action means a subscriber agrees to receive information on voting and reminders about key dates in the election process. The volume of notifications is 2-3 per month from June through November.
HOW DO PEOPLE SUBSCRIBE?
It’s simple! Anyone who wants to receive election reminders from LWVMN should download League in Action from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store (this is a mobile-only app; there is no version for PCs or Macs). You can display this sign so that people can use the QR code to find the app quickly (this short video demonstrates what it looks like to install the app on an iPhone.)
HOW DO PEOPLE UNSUBSCRIBE?
Choose the “Stop Supporting” option from within the app, or delete it from the phone.
WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFO?
Handouts explaining League in Action are available to use with your event or voter registration drive. Contact the state office for copies or to find out how you can best take advantage of this service with your local League.
WHAT Notifications WILL PEOPLE RECEIVE?
Subscribers will receive a text message about these dates:
Candidate filing period closes
Early voting for primaries
Pre-registration deadline for primaries
Primary election day
Early voting for general election
National Voter Registration Day
Pre-registration deadline for general election
General election day
Messages will include information about where and how to vote, how to confirm a registration is complete, absentee ballots, getting time off work, inviting friends to vote, and more.
