LWV Minnesota plays a major role in defending our democracy by taking action through legislative and legal advocacy, action kits and alerts, and through active partnerships with voting rights and democracy organizations and coalitions. We use a lens of diversity, equity and inclusion in all of our work to ensure that we make democracy work – for ALL people. Check out our current programs and initiatives below:

All advocacy is based on approved positions within our member-approved Program for Action.
Redistricting – People Powered Fair Maps™ is a national redistricting program of LWVUS, focused on creating fair political maps nationwide in all 50 states + D.C.
Restore the Vote – seeks to establish a law to restore voting rights automatically to individuals with past felony convictions so long as they are not incarcerated.
A new Climate Change Task Force has been established to address this critical priority.
Our Lobby & Observer Corps program trains and supports members who participate in the legislative process alongside staff.
