Part II – Chapter 2

Empowering Voters

Take a glance at all our major LWV Minnesota initiatives and programs.

LWV Minnesota remains one of the premiere organizations conducting voter registration, providing nonpartisan voter information and candidate forums, and helping to empower ALL voters within the state of Minnesota, including young voters, new citizens and people who are often disenfranchised. Members can get involved at both the state and local levels in these many activities.

  • Most information on our voter services can be found in the Voter Service Handbook.

  • LWV Minnesota leads the nation in conducting nonpartisan candidate forums. Check out our press coverage on forums and other timely League topics.

  • VOTE411.org – Launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) in October of 2006, VOTE411.org is a "one-stop-shop" for election related information. It provides nonpartisan information to the public with both general and state-specific information on most all aspects of the election process. LWV Minnesota provided candidate information on nearly all local, state and federal races in 2020, totaling more than 7,000 candidates.

  • LWV Minnesota is the trusted provider of voter registration for new citizens at all the naturalization ceremonies.

  • The Youth Civic Engagement Program actively involves high school students in voter service projects and advocacy activities.
