How Green Can We Be?

The League believes that climate change is a serious threat facing our nation and our planet. The issue is one of LWVMN’s priorities for 2023. Join us and our guest speakers to hear what is happening locally to encourage sustainability and green energy use. Our guests will be:

  • Cate Stacy, member of Rochester-Olmsted Youth Council and senior at Mayo High School, will describe the “Green Business Recognition Program” she founded and will name recent winners.

  • Kim Norton, Rochester’s Mayor, will update us on the City’s adoption of a publicly devised set of sustainability goals and a more climate protective agenda. She will also share some of the big projects the City is working on.

  • Dave Senjem, Olmsted County Commissioner and former chair of the Senate Energy Committee, will discuss green initiatives in Olmsted County as well as provide information on state and international clean energy progress.

You will have a chance to ask our panel questions on the current status of projects and initiatives and where we go from here. The event is free and open to the public. We hope you’ll join us.
