Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids Area

LWVABC is an active group of women and men from several north and northwest metro communities including Anoka, Andover, Blaine, Champlin, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, East Bethel, Fridley, Ham Lake, and Ramsey.

Their history goes back to a 1938 organizational meeting in Anoka that was rooted in the national League of Women Voters commitment to civic engagement and voter education. In its 75 year span, League of Women Voters ABC has steadfastly promoted voter registration and education, provided candidate forums, and advocated for change in many critical local, state and national issues.

Recent advocacy issues include protection of water resources; visibility of human trafficking as a local issue; reducing pollinator decline through education, and identifying issues and action items related to immigration, public education, housing, and homeless youth.

Evening programs are held on the second Monday of the month, usually at Andover City Hall’s Senior Center at 1685 Crosstown Boulevard. Speakers and planned discussion on a range of topics provide for a stimulating and informative evening. Programs begin at 6:30 pm, preceded by a light supper and social time at 6:00 pm.  Visitors and new members are always welcome! Follow them on Facebook at
