Public Policy Affects Everything You Do!
Regardless of your current program of study - business, art, biology,
human services, sociology, or political science - Leaders of Today and
Tomorrow (LOTT) can show how how to have a voice in decisions that impact
your life.
Seminar speakers are Minnesota women leaders representing the
legislature, courts, media, state and local agencies, and interest
groups. Students learn how policy is shaped, how current public policy
affects Minnesota citizens and how they themselves can influence policy.
LOTT's intensive, provocative seminars take you beyond the textbooks and
classrooms to put you where the action is.
This in-depth seminar includes:
- Panel presentations and discussions with women leaders from across the
state:
- Supreme Court Justices
- Women in the Media
- State Legislators and Elected Officials
- Skill-building workshops;
- Mentorship lunch with women in public policy;
- Public policy career exploration;
- Networking with like-minded students;
- Exploration of the issues that affect women's lives.

Seminar Dates:
January 15-17, 2009
The seminar begins with registration at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 15
and ends at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 17.

Seminar locations include the Minnesota State Capitol

Credit:
Students may earn college credits. The seminar
offers a minimum of 15 hours of contact time. Check with your college
registrar to determine your eligibility.
Expenses:
The program fee of $0.00
includes all meals, activities, transportation between sessions, and a student
membership in the League of Women Voters of Minnesota. Hotel
accommodations are an additional fee

Scholarships:
Several schools offer scholarships to attend LOTT. Please check
with your home institution for funds availability.
Limited scholarships are also available through LOTT. Awards will
be determined by December 29, 2008.
Please note: The scholarship application deadline is December 1, 2008,
and is earlier than the seminar registration deadline.

LOTT seeks participants of diverse backgrounds from locations across the
state and encourages women of color and/or from greater Minnesota to apply.
Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LOTT) was founded in 1993 as a program of
the Minnesota Women's Consortium with guidance from area colleges and women's
organizations. LOTT is currently a program of the League of Women Voters
of Minnesota Education Fund, which works to inspire the leadership of women in
public life, recognizing that strong, diverse perspectives are needed in the
nation.
